Aditya Birla Group’s Idea Cellular adds 2.04 million new rural subscribers in December

India’s rural subscriber base, with 4.15 million new connections in December, grew 1.3% over November, taking the total rural GSM consumers to 319.79 million.

NEW DELHI: Aditya Birla Group’s Idea Cellular has added 2.04 million new rural subscribers in December, followed by Bharti Airtel, 0.85 million, and Vodafone India, 0.50 million, GSM lobby group COAI in a statement said.

India’s rural subscriber base, with 4.15 million new connections in December, grew 1.3% over November, taking the total rural GSM consumers to 319.79 million.

Maharashtra circle added maximum GSM subscribers, 0.87 million, in the month of December while UP East remains largest telecom circle with 33.58 million connections.
