2G scam: Tata Teleservices official fails to identify signatures of colleagues

The Chief Corporate Regulatory Officer of Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) today failed to identify the signatures of officials of the company.

NEW DELHI: The Chief Corporate Regulatory Officer of Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) today failed to identify the signatures of officials of the company in a Delhi court hearing the 2G spectrum scam case.

Prosecution witness Rakesh Malhotra, the Officer of TTSL, deposed that he cannot identify the signatures of Anand Dalal, TTSL Senior Vice President (Corporate Regulatory Affairs) who is also a CBI witness in the case.

Deposing before Special CBI Judge O P Saini, he said he had not given any authority to Dalal to collect the Letter of Intents (LoIs) for 2G spectrum licences from the Department of Telecom on January 10, 2008, and refuted the allegation that he was deposing falsely.

"It is wrong to suggest that I am deposing falsely pertaining to identification of signatures of Anand Dalal. I had stated earlier that LOIs for the aforesaid circles (Assam, J&K and North-East) were received under his(Dalal) signatures and by that I meant might be his signatures. I did not give any authority to Anand Dalal to collect the LOIs," he said.
