2G case: Supreme Court's two-judge bench to hear Sunil Mittal plea on Thursday
A two-judge Supreme Court bench will hear on Thursday bharti telecom CEO Sunil Bharti Mittal's plea against the 2G special court decision to summon him.
The special court had on march 18, 2013, summoned him to appear as an accused in connection with the excess spectrum allocation case.
Mittal has challenged it in the top court. Today, a three-judge bench, led by the CJI, was to hear his plea.
But one of the judges VIkramjit Sen recused himself. So the bench adjourned the hearing till thursday.
The 2G court was accordingly directed to list the case next monday.
CBI counsel K.K. Venugopal said that Mittal's plea should be heard by the 2G bench of the top court, led by justice G.S. Singvi.
But the bench led by CJI said that it would deal with the issue of whether it can take up mittal's plea on thursday.
