Wipro says will consider bonus issue on Jan 18
In July 2018, cross-town rival Infosys had announced a one-for-one bonus issue to mark the 25 years of its listing in India.
In June 2017, the Bengaluru-based company had announced a bonus of one share for each share held. That was its fifth issue of bonus shares in a decade.
In September that year, it announced a buyback of up to 343.75 million shares representing 7.06% of its paid-up capital, for Rs 320 each, or Rs 11,000 crore in total. Wipro’s shares closed 4.5% lower at Rs 313.35 on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday. The bonus issue announcement came after market close.
