Travelorg to invest Rs 40-60-cr to expand service apartments

Travel and tourism services provider, Travelorg, plans to increase its service apartments to 240 from the current 160 by March 2009.

MUMBAI: Travel and tourism services provider, Travelorg, plans to increase its service apartments to 240 from the current 160 by March 2009, a top company official said.

The company runs its business under the brand name Signature Crest.

Signature Crest is a chain of fully-furnished service apartments offering high-end amenities to corporate travellers, combining business with pleasure.

"We would be investing around Rs 40-60-crore for increasing Signature Crest appartments from 160 to 240 by March 2009," the company's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Venkatesh K, said.

The company was also inaugurating a service apartment in London on July 1, he said.

Travelorg has plans to increase the number of service apartments to 460 in two years at an investment of Rs 100-crore.

"Seeing the growth in meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) market in India, we have plans to increase our Signature Crest apartments to 460 in various parts of the country by 2010," he said.
