Tourism sector discussed during G-20 summit: Chiranjeevi

Union Minister of State for Tourism K Chiranjeevi today said that tourism was one of the sectors discussed during the recent G-20 summit.

RAJAHMUNDRY: Union Minister of State for Tourism K Chiranjeevi today said that tourism was one of the sectors discussed during the recent G-20 summit.

"During the recently concluded G-20 meeting, we discussed various issues like where more employment opportunities were available in the country. We discussed various employment opportunities in the tourism sector," Chiranjeevi said here on the sidelines of a function.

Rs 250 crore have been allocated for various mega tourism projects, Chiranjeevi said adding that a major share of funds would be allocated to Visakhapatnam- Bhimili, Kondapalli, Pileru, Nizamabad, Basara and Gandhi Hill project in Vijayawada.

"A Detailed project Report (DPR) on Godavari Mega Tourism Circuit has been prepared. The project would be set up at a cost of Rs 50 crore," the minister added.

State Tourism Minister V Vasant Kumar said Andhra Pradesh government had allocated Rs 160 crore for tourism sector.

When he was asked about the incident in which his actor-son Ram Charan Teja's bodyguards allegedly beat up two software professionals, the minister said his son had explained the matter earlier.
