NEW DELHI: The tourism ministry said on Tuesday it has launched a portal called strandedinindia.com for tourists stuck in the country because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The ministry said the portal will help tourists get information on state tourism departments and regional offices of the ministry of tourism to help them stay safe and healthy while in India. It will also help them find information on ways of getting back to their home country, the ministry added.

Stranded in India content will also be hosted on the Incredible India website. The website lists the COVID-19 helpline numbers for tourists besides the tourist helpline numbers 1363 or 1800111363.


Tourists seeking assistance can also fill up an online form on the website detailing where they came from, the place where they are stranded in the country, with their contact details and message.

The website also lists the details of the ministry of external affairs COVID-19 control centre, with the list of officers providing assistance for different geographical areas like the US, Italy, Spain, Japan, China, Russia and Latin America among others.

It also mentions the local helplines of different states and union territories that can be contacted for help.
