Rs 300 crore tourist hub to come up in West Bengal's Gajoldoba
Sighting of the Kanchenjungha is possible from the area on a bright sunny day with other offerings like the rivers of Teesta and Torsa.
"This would be the biggest such hub in the country and the estimated cost of the project would be around Rs 300 crore, of which Rs 200 crore would be spent to improve the infrastructure. The total area of the hub is 208 acres," said Deb.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had renamed the area Bhorer Aalo. Sighting of the Kanchenjungha is possible from the area on a bright sunny day with other offerings like the rivers of Teesta and Torsa, and the forests in the area.
The place is likely to be a major tourist destination in the State by 2017. "Development will be carried out in phases," said Goutam Deb said. A star hotel will also come up. There will be a mini golf course and facilities for adventure sports, including rafting on the river Teesta.
