Meghalaya govt conceptualised a prog to develop the tourism circuit in Mawkyrwat and its adjoining area

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inspected various tourism locations in South West Khasi Hills in presence of Power Minister James K. Sangma and MLA Renikton Lyngdoh.

He said that Mawkyrwat has a rich history and natural diversity and the government has collaborated with stakeholders to chart out a systematic tourism development strategy. He also informed that consultants for tourism projects have been identified and they were working on a masterplan to promote tourism in different parts of the State.
The Chief Minister informed that the damaged stretch of road from Mawphlang towards Weiloi en route to Mawkyrwak has been taken up under the Systematic Maintenance Programme which is a new programme started this year.
