Madhya Pradesh government to renew its tourism policy
In a bid to attract more tourists and collect more revenue through tourism, Madhya Pradesh government has decided to renew its 'Tourism Policy-2007', providing joint package to all the segments including travel and transport, hotels and hospitality.
"We have decided to renew the policy keeping in view of the demand of the changing scenario in the tourism sector," Minister for State for Tourism Tukoji Rao Puar said today.
He was speaking at a function organised to celebrate 30th birth anniversary of the State Tourism Corporation.
Rao said unless all the segments of the industry were not jointly packaged, a comprehensive development of tourism in the state was not possible.
Asserting that Madhya Pradesh would be made a leading state by tapping the possibilities of tourism development, he said efforts would be made to train staffs related to the tourism sector, which included its hospitality, travel and transport, accommodation, entertainment and safety.
He said the state's rich flora and fauna would provide country's best adventure, cultural, historic, religious and wildlife tourism.
He presented state tourism awards for best performances to seven groups of hotels in different category and 15 awards to persons working as different capacity in corporations hotels at different places in the presence of corporation's chairman and vice-chairman Dhruvnarayan Singh and Jagatram Advani.
