To cash in on the rising prominence of Malabar region in the tourism map of Kerala, the district administration and the corporation of Kozhikode are jointly conducting a one month Malabar shopping festival there from December 20.

KOCHI: To cash in on the rising prominence of Malabar region in the tourism map of Kerala, the district administration and the corporation of Kozhikode are jointly conducting a one month Malabar shopping festival there from December 20.
By creating a total `Malabar experience' through cultural and entertainment programmes peculiar to Malabar, the festival hopes to attract visitors from neighbouring states as well.
The Malabar region has logged on high growth in the tourist arrivals this year with Wayanad and Kannur districts on the forefront.
