J&K govt committed to promote tourism by establishing TDAs

The Jammu and Kashmir government is committed to promoting tourism infrastructure by establishing Tourism Development Authorities (TDAs) in the state.

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir government is committed to promoting tourism infrastructure by establishing Tourism Development Authorities (TDAs) in the state, Secretary of Tourism department Nayeem Akhtar said on Tuesday.

To boost tourism industry, being the backbone of state economy, a number of Tourist Development Authorities are being established, Akhter said.

Establishing TDAs in the state has proved quite effective not only in managing the respective tourist interest places by developing adequate infrastructural facilities for tourists, but the number of tourists has also increased, he said at a function here.

In view of ever rising rush of pilgrims either to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, Amarnath cave, Khir Bhawani and other religious places, tourism department has developed the infrastructure on modern line to the utter satisfaction of the devotees, he said.
