SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary B R Kundal has expressed hope that the valley would witness a heavy influx of tourist this season as a result of improvement in handicrafts, health, horticulture and road connectivity.

"Measures taken to boost tourism, handicrafts, health, education, horticulture and road connectivity in the state are yielding good results and the state, particularly the valley, during this season will witness heavy influx of tourists," Chief Secretary B R Kundal said today.

Asserting that the industries only could provide a viable alternative for tackling unemployment in the state, he said industries have been receiving priority and many schemes were in pipeline to boost the sector. He said this while interacting with the representatives of trade and commerce, industries, tourism and handicrafts.

He assured them that the government has already initiated measures for ensuring equitable development of the people residing in Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir.
