ITC’s travel arm to invest Rs 16 cr in expansion

NEW DELHI: International Travel House (ITH), the Rs 490-crore wholly-owned subsidiary and travel wing of ITC, has invested Rs 16 crore for business development. This includes a web portal with a payment gateway, more offices across the country and enhancement of their car rental service.

The company launched its destination management services three months ago, under which exotic tours bouquets are provided to customers. These include meet and greet services, transport and accommodation services among others. “We are working on the itinerary for 35 Canadians who will embark on an Indian cuisine tour,” said ITH managing director Anil Bhandari.

It has introduced niche tours such as river cruises in Russia, China and Europe along with spiritual tours across India. “We have launched sports packages like golf tour to Malaysia, which includes a complete trip with three golf games at Rs 50,000 per person for four days and three nights,” said ITH executive vice-president Kamal Hingorani.
