Gujarat develops tourist circuits

In order to boost tourism in Gujarat the state government has developed two tourist circuts.

SURAT: In order to boost tourism in Gujarat the state government has developed two tourist circuts.

"Of the two, the Gandhi circuit includes historical places like Porbander, Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Dandi," state Tourism Minister Jaynarayan Vays said during his visit to the city on Sunday.

Since all these places had a strong connection with Mahatma Gandhi, the circuit has been named after him, he said.

"While historical sites linked to Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, namely Sardar Smarak (Sardar's house in Ahmedabad), Nadiad, Karmsad and Bardoli are included in Sardar circuit," Vyas said.

"These circuits will help the tourists who want to know more about Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel. Government is ready to provide all support needed by the tour operators who want to arrange tours to these sites," Vyas said.

He said once both these circuits become operational, government will start planning for devotional and coastal circuits.
