Government to roll out master plan to develop tourism
Puducherry Welfare and Tourism Minister P Rajavelu today the government has entrusted the task of preparing a master plan for promotion of tourism for the next ten years.
The plan would be rolled out in the 90 days, he said while addressing the office bearers of the South India Hotels and Restaurants Association here today.
Sating that every effort should be made to conserve the cultural and heritage features of Puducherry, he said the government had accorded priority for infrastructure development.
He said that Puducherry was attracting around one lakh tourists every month and there were also around 40,000 transit tourists making trips to Puducherry.
