NEW DELHI: In a bid to reinforce India as a world-class tourism destination, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) jointly with the Rajasthan Government and Union Ministry of Tourism is organising an international tourism mart in Jaipur.

"There is a cause of concern as only five million tourists are coming to India, which is a small amount compared to those going to other countries, despite of its countless attractions. So FICCI decided to showcase India to the rest of the world," said Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson of FICCI Tourism Committee, during a road show on the mart here.

Principal Secretary of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan Mira Mehrishi said, "the international mart will be held from April 21 to 23, 2008 in Jaipur and it targets potential consumers of tourism products from across the globe and India."

"This is an opportunity to join hands with foreign tour operators and travel writers from all over the world," said Leena Nandan, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India while addressing the gathering.
