Agreement to be signed for promoting medical tourism in Coimbatore

Sri Ramakrishna Hospital in Coimbatore is signing agreements with 18 Countries to provide treatment in various medical fields.

COIMBATORE: In order to promote medical tourism in a big way, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital here, is signing agreements with 18 Countries to provide treatment in various medical fields.

To start with, the hospital has signed the agreement with Kenya, by which 110 children will be screened for cardiac related diseases and will be brought to the hospital for further treatment, if required, Dr Sukumaran, Dean and Director of the hospital told reporters here today.

The doctors from the hospital will visit various parts of Kenya in a few weeks for screening the children, he said.

The hospital is constructing a new 250-bed block, with five-star level for this purpose, having seven modular operation theatres, to be ready by March 2016, at a cost of Rs 150 crore, Sukumaran said.
