Sawhny to head Bharti Retail

NEW DELHI: Vinod Sawhny, joint president of enterprise services, Bharti Airtel, has been appointed as head of Bharti Retail. Mr Sawhny will report to chairman of Bharti Retail.

In his new assignment, he will look after operations in hypermarkets, neighbourhood stores and super centres on a pan-India basis. Mr Sawhny had joined Bharti in 2002 as CEO, northern region, for mobile operations.

Prior to his appointment as joint president of enterprise services, he was executive director of Airtel’s western region mobile operations.
