MUMBAI: Daman-based packaging company, Radha Madhav Corporation Ltd on Monday said it has bagged an order worth Rs 3.25 lakh from Reliance Retail and another Rs 11 lakh order from Fab Mart for supply of environment-friendly packaging films.

Reliance Retail has placed the initial order of Rs 3.25 lakh to be supplied within a week and the order from Fab Mart would be supplied within a month, Radha Madhav said in a communique on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Under the order bagged from Reliance Retail the company said it would supply food-grade packaging films for various branded products to be distributed through Reliance's retail chains, adding that the films would be cheaper in comparison to conventional packaging, recyclable as well as environmental friendly.

Following the acceptance of environment-friendly packaging films (Alternate packaging) the company said it had commenced R&D efforts in discovering various other options under guidance of European Technical Partners. It said this would bring the company and India at par with international packaging and environmental standards.
