Nilkamal to invest Rs 150 crores in retail sector

Vadodara: Modern furniture major, Nilkamal Limited will invest Rs 150 crores in the retail venture in next three years,its executive director Hiten V Parekh said.
Talking to newsmen after opening its "Home Mega Store" in the centre square mall today, Parekh said the purpose behind launching of this store is to provide international style retail format offering aesthetic, contemporary, ready made furniture along with soft furnishings and home accessories.
The store would also serve those consumers who have no time to buy raw material and supervise the carpenter to get the furniture made for their homes, Parekh said.
Nilkamal Limited, with an annual turn over of Rs 950 crore, has ten production units located across the country, Sri lanka and Bangladesh, Parekh said.
The units located in Srilanka and Bangladesh earn a total revenue of Rs 60 crores per year, he said.
Home is the country's premier and pioneering mega home store chain from the Neelkamal group. It has already opned its stores in Ahmedabad and Surat and Vadodara.
The company has plans to open such stores in Rajkot, Parekh said.
