Additional secretary, rural livelihoods, Ministry of Rural Development Charanjit Singh said in the statement that the collaboration would enable SHGs of Deendayal antyodaya yojana national rural livelihoods missionto be onboarded as sellers onto the JioMart e-commerce platform. “With this alliance, the self help groups will get to widen their market and visibility.” As part of the partnership, the sellers will get to avail benefits and guidance in growing their businesses online, the statement added.
Ravi Prakash Gandhi, president and chief of public policy and regulatory, Reliance Retail said the partnership is one of many more such associations in the future. “We aim to transform the digital retail ecosystem in the country and through this collaboration we want to empower growth and also facilitate digitisation of self help groups,” he said.
According to the statement, JioMart will navigate and operate accounts on the marketplace and provide post-launch training and marketing support.
This alliance will bring the groups on to JioMart to sell traditional textiles, pantry, home decor and beauty products, the statement said.
