Mumbai: Melorra, an online jewellery brand, has entered into brick and mortar retailing space by opening its first store in Bangalore.

"From online to offline, the launch of the retail stores will provide a seamless, customer-in-control experience. We are a brand taking inspiration from global fashion trends, and launch a new collection every week," Saroja Yeramilli, founder and CEO, Melorra, said. "At our physical stores, customers can shop worry free with the option of a digital checkout."

Melorra has been an online retailer since 2016 and has covered over 1900 towns in the country. The company recently raised $12.5 million in a funding round led by Symphony Asia, Lightbox Ventures, Alteria Capital and other leading family offices.

Ecommerce as a channel is still a small contributor to India's jewellery market, which is still highly unorganised. Tanishq, the market leader in the branded space, had also introduced video calling, endless aisle, virtual try-on and real time live-assisted chat to offer convenience platforms to consumers to purchase.
