Malaysia-based Royal Selangor enters India, plans to set up 18 more outlets

Over a century-old, Royal Selangor produces a range of modern homeware, drinkware and personal accessories and plans to target market for gifts.

MUMBAI: Royal Selangor from Malaysia has entered the Indian market by setting up two outlets in Mumbai and plans to set up 18 more outlets in the next three years in different parts of the country.

"To take advantage of the strong Indian gifting market, we are setting up 20 outlets in the next three years," Royal Selangor Executive Director Chen Tien Yue said.

The company expects to achieve a revenue of Rs 100 crore in three years by opening outlets in tier-I cities, Yue said.

The company plans to open outlets in Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad and Kolkata among others at a cost of Rs 2 crore per outlet.
