JK Consulting eyeing orders from top foreign retail brands
JKT Consulting, a business solutions arm of the diversified JK Group, is looking to implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions for about five reputed retailers, including some foreign brands.

NEW DELHI: JKT Consulting, a business solutions arm of the diversified JK Group, is looking to implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions for about five reputed retailers, including some foreign brands.
The wholly-owned subsidiary of JK Technosoft has entered into a partnership with Germany's business software giant SAP AG, which also includes the tie-up for retail business.
"We are in the final stage of discussions with 4-5 entities, including foreign ones. There are both small to mid-sized and large retailers," JKT Consulting CEO Purnendra Kishore said in an interview.
Enterprise Solutions are used to implement and monitor businesses like logistics, analytics and human capital.
Even though he did not reveal the names of its potential clients, Kishore said investment is estimated at about one million dollar for small and mid-sized firms while it would be higher for larger clients.
According to Kishore, the SAP-powered ERP platform has already been implemented for two retailers - one in India and another in the UK. JKT Consulting focuses on four areas - retail, consumer goods, healthcare and cement.
The company, in association with SAP, has also started 'SAP Solutions Academy' which primarily offers training in SAP ERP, Netweaver and New Dimension programmes. The programmes at the Gurgaon-based academy would be certified by SAP.
"There is a lot of demand for qualified SAP people and also a dearth of such hands. On an estimate, India has a shortage of about 30,000 professionals currently," he said.
SAP consultants are those who can implement the business software developed by the German firm. "We are expecting to have at least 500 candidates to be enrolled for e-learning programme by March 2009," he added.
