Ikea cuts price for some bestselling range of products calling it a long-term, inclusive strategy
Local sourcing remains a main driver of affordability and over a third of the products under new lower price are ‘Made in India’, Ikea said.
This comes weeks after the retailer decided to temporarily shut its Hyderabad store to take additional safety measures, soon after reopening it following more than two months of closure during the national lockdown.
“The changing customer mindset with the pandemic has made affordability more relevant,” Ikea India country commercial manager Kavitha Rao said in a statement, adding that the prices were being lowered “without compromising on quality”. Ikea said it will continue to work towards more such price initiatives for Indian customers.
