Ikea announces appointment of Susanne Pulverer as new India CEO

Global furniture and home products retailer Ikea has announced it has appointed Susanne Pulverer as the new India CEO, replacing Peter Betzel who is moving on a new assignment to his home country of Germany after a four-and-half years stint in India.

Pulverer is the first woman chief executive officer the chief sustainability officer for India. Prior to the new assignment, she was leading the market development for Delhi NCR where Ikea is building a mall in Gurgaon that will, apart from an Ikea store, will also house other brands and restaurants outside of the Swedish group’s business.

Ikea operates two big box outlets in India, one each in Hyderabad and Navi Mumbai and in December the world's largest furniture retailer had opened its first smaller city centre format in Worli in Mumbai.
