Himalya International ties up with Reliance Retail
Frozen food products exporter Himalya International has decided to enter the domestic market and has signed an agreement with Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance Retail for selling its products locally.
A new chapter has been opened by signing an agreement with Reliance, the major retail player for selling its products in domestic market, the New Delhi-based company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Italian style specialty cheeses and premium sweets shall be launched under Himalya's own brand while some products shall be launched under Reliance's brand 'Dairy Pure', it said.
These products are being made by the company at its new 'state-of-the-art' plant in Himachal Pradesh, it said.
The company, engaged in processing mushrooms, baby potatoes and buffalo cheese, has been exporting frozen products to the US for past 10 years, it said.
Seeing the growth potential in the domestic market, the company changed its status from export-oriented unit to export promotion capital goods scheme, it said.
The company recycle and reuse all its by-products for conservation precious power and fuel.
