HCL forays digital lifestyle stores in Hyderabad
HCL Infosystems, an information enabling and integration company, has forayed into the South Indian market with its digital lifestyle stores.
HYDERABAD: HCL Infosystems, an information enabling and integration company, has forayed into the South Indian market with its digital lifestyle stores.
The company, which has 18 stores in northern and western India, has launched two stores in Hyderabad. The company is planning 10 stores in Andhra and launch in Chennai, Bangalore, Cochin and Madurai. The company is targeting 150 to 200 stores by the end of 2007.
"Each of these stores will be about 800 to 1,000 square feet in space," HCL Infosystems executive vice-president Rajendra Kumar told ET. These stores stock digital music players, home theatre systems, computers, gaming consoles, digital cameras and printers.
It would sell brands like HCL, Apple, Microsoft, Toshiba and Casio. Industry estimates peg the current potential of digital lifestyle market around Rs 2,500 crore, according to a company statement.
