GMR ties up with HMS Host for F&B outlet

GMR Infrastructure today said it has awarded the contract of maintaining food and beverage outlets at Shamshabad airport to Italy-based travel-dining and shopping company HMS Host.

MUMBAI: GMR Infrastructure today said it has awarded the contract of maintaining food and beverage outlets at Shamshabad airport to Italy-based travel-dining and shopping company HMS Host.

"The contract will create one of the most unique retail and food and beverage experience in the travel-retail industry," GMR Chief Operating Officer T Srinagesh said.

The company, however, did not disclose the financial details of the contract.

Under the contract, HMS Host would set up, operate and maintain the F&B outlets at the new international airport. It would bring up stores like Pizza Hut, KFC, Cafe Expresso and others at the alloted locations, the company added.

"The concessions designed for the new airport will pay tribute to the best in regional Indian culture. It will also feature international brands that will be familiar to travellers from around the globe," HMS Host President and CEO Elie Maalouf said.

GHIAL, which is a subsidiary of Bangalore-based GMR Infrastructure, is developing the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

HMS Host, a leading provider of food and beverage (F&B), serving travellers across the globe, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Autogrill S.p.A., located in Italy.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 173.20, down 0.86 per cent in the afternoon trade on BSE.
