Future Group to soon launch ethnic wear brand
The Future Group will launch an ethnic wear brand and a fresh food brand within the next six months as the country’s largest retailer plans to add a new private label every quarter, a top company official said.
“We want to expand our portfolio in private labels and will launch a new brand each quarter,” said Santosh Desai, CEO of Future Brands.
A subsidiary of Pantaloon Retail, Future Brands owns the group’s consumer product brands sold mostly through group companies such as Indus League Clothing, Home Solutions (India) and Big Bazaar.
The company will launch ethnic wear brand Srishti and fresh fruits and juices brand Punya by March next and expects each of these labels to generate revenues of Rs 100 crore by 2015, Mr Desai said.
Future brands also plans to sell its labels through other retailers and has already licensed out apparel brand John Miller, which will be followed by Bare, DJ&C and Dreamline this year.
The company is targeting 60% revenue growth this fiscal over the Rs 1,000 crore revenue clocked last year.
In the food and homecare segment, it markets kitchenware and home décor brand Dreamline besides Tasty Treat, Premium Harvest, Fresh & Pure, Care Mate and Clean Mate.
