E-commerce marketplace Flipkart has expanded its zero-commission policy to cover all products in its fashion category by removing the earlier price cap of Rs 1,000.

The change will enable around 90,000 active sellers in the fashion segment to retain their full margins, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Earlier, the zero-commission policy applied only to fashion products priced at up to Rs 1,000.

Kapil Thirani, Vice President of Flipkart Fashion said, "By extending this seller-first initiative across the entire fashion category, we are making a long-term investment in our sellers so they can invest more confidently in innovation, assortment expansion and brand building."

Founded in 2007, Flipkart has a registered user base of more than 500 million and over 1.4 million sellers on its platform.
