Flight Shop to have to have 24 new stores by 2017

The company which runs corporate travel arm FCm Travel Solutions along with leisure travel company Flight Shop will add 24 stores to its existing 12 stores with an investment of approximately Rs 20 crores.

NEW DELHI: Australia head-quartered retail travel brand Flight Centre Travel group will expand its travel stores across 10 cities in India in the next three years. The company which runs corporate travel arm FCm Travel Solutions along with leisure travel company Flight Shop will add 24 stores to its existing 12 stores with an investment of approximately Rs 20 crores.

"The economics vary by market but we will spend anything between Rs 20 lakh to Rs 2 crore setting up each store. We have started our expansion with Delhi and will move to 10 cities in the next three years," says Rakshit Desai, managing director of the company in India.

He adds that the company in India has a turnover of Rs 2,000 crore and has over 1,000 employees. Globally, Flight Shop has 2,500 shops across 11 countries.
