First wait for the 2nd: Flipkart takes a jab on Amazon
In a tongue in cheek tweet, India's online giant Flipkart has asked users to wait till October 2 for the real deals.
"Hang on India. The real deals begin only on the 2nd of October on India's biggest sale - The #BigBillionDays. So first, wait for the 2nd," goes the tweet.

For those unaware, the tweet is aimed at shoppers planning to buy from Amazon's Great India Festival sale which starts tommorrow (October 1) and will go on till October 5. Flipkart's sale starts just a day later on October 2.
In the third edition of its Big Billion Day sale, Flipkart will offer no-cost EMIs and product exchange programmes aimed at attracting more revenue. Flipkart is also betting big on sale of large appliances, besides extending its domination in the high-margin fashion and apparel segments.
The company has also tied up with smartphone giant Apple for the pre-booking of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. This is the first time that Flipkart has tied up with Apple for the pre-booking of iPhones.
Flipkart, however, soon replied to the tweet saying that the package was being used as a 'reception dustbin'. After being egged by Twitter users, Amazon India finally replied saying, "There is a bit of Amazon in every e-commerce company."
Flipkart took Amazon's tweet in humour and responded, "@amazonIN @redditindia We'll drink to that."
