DIAL invites EoIs for food outlets at its upcoming terminal
Delhi International Airport Ltd, the consortium mandated to modernise the national capital's airport, is believed to have invited expression of interests for running food and beverage outlets at its upcoming domestic departure Terminal-1D.
"The applicants must be reputed brand owners or franchisees having multiple F&B concepts. They must have at least five years of continuous experience in setting up, operating and maintaining outlets in India or abroad," an industry player said.
The new terminal will have the capacity to handle 10 million passengers every year. The new terminal will replace the existing departure Terminal 1B to cater to full service airlines such as Jet Airways and low-cost carriers, which are now slated for 1B.
At present, Delhi airport houses more than 40 food and beverage outlets, operated by major fast food players and hospitality chains, including Welcomgroup and Ashoka Hotels.
DIAL is a public-private-partnership initiative, with GMR Group holding 50.1 per cent stake in the company.
The Airports Authority of India has 26 per cent, while Fraport and Eraman Malaysia have 10 per cent ownership each. India Development Fund holds the balance 3.9 per cent in the firm.
