CFC unit CEO joins Reliance Retail

The CEO of Countrywide Financial Corporation’s unit, Vasu Ramaswami, has quit to join Mukesh Ambani’s retail venture, Reliance Retail.

MUMBAI: The CEO of Countrywide Financial Corporation’s unit, Vasu Ramaswami, has quit to join Mukesh Ambani’s retail venture, Reliance Retail.

He will be heading the operations and customers services for the finance division which comes under membership, finance and travel division of Reliance Retail.

Mr Ramaswami will be heading the finance division, where his profile will include advising customers on various financial services offered. This will be done by his team present in multiple cities, including Mumbai.

People close to Mr Ramaswami said he had been wanting to go back to the finance sector for a long time. Prior to CFC, he was heading banking and financial services vertical of TCS BPO.

He joined CFC India in February 2005 and has worked with the organisation for close to two years before this opportunity came along. Under his leadership, CFC India grew from 450 to 1,000 people in India.

The engineering graduate from Nagpur pursued his masters in management studies from Bombay University before stepping into the financial sector.
