Brandhouse Retails discontinues India operations of Dunhill

Retail master franchisee Brandhouse Retails Ltd today said it has discontinued the operations of global luxury brand for men, dunhill in India.

NEW DELHI: Retail master franchisee Brandhouse Retails Ltd today said it has discontinued the operations of global luxury brand for men, dunhill in India.

"We have mutually along with dunhill decided to discontinue the Indian operations for the brand," Brandhouse Retails Ltd (BRL) said in a filing to the BSE.

The company further said the development will not have any impact on its current business and profitability.

"The total sales of the current operation of dunhill in India is less than one per cent of the consolidated sales of BRL," it added.

For the fiscal ended March 31, 2012, BRL had a consolidated total income of Rs 799.84 crore.

As per its website, BHR had through an exclusive tie-up opened the first dunhill store in India in 2007. It has three exclusive brand stores (two in New Delhi and one in Bangalore) retailing a wide range items such as suits, shirts, blazers, luggage, writing instruments, timepieces, golfing apparel, ties, belts and other accessories.

Apart from dunhill, BHR also retails Reid and Taylor, Stephens Brothers, Carmichael House and Belmonte.
