New Delhi: Austria’s Coffeeshop Company expects India to become its biggest market as it plans to open 100 stores by 2029, Zhanna Alcanov, Managing Director of Coffeeshop Company said.

The brand has tied up with Franchise India to enter the market.

“Our biggest market in terms of the number of stores is Russia but I am sure that it will be overtaken by India. India. If you take a look at the consumption of the coffees in India, it's still very low per capita. It is growing dynamically,“ said Alcanov.


According to the World Coffee Portal, the Indian branded coffee shop market grew by 12.7% over the last year and is forecasted to exceed 10,000 outlets by 2030, representing a robust five-year CAGR of 13.2%. As the fastest-growing market in the Asia-Pacific region, India is witnessing a café revolution driven by a young, urban population seeking premium hospitality experiences.

“We are already in advance stages of talks to open store across multiple cities. People are frequenting cafes more than they were doing 5 years back, the cafe culture in India is evolving and now is at a tipping point,” said Sonya Chowdhry, Managing Director at Franchise India.

The brand currently operates in 7 countries with over 100 stores.
