UP RERA to start physical hearing from May 1

The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Development Authority (UP RERA) has decided to give choice of physical hearing to the homebuyers and developers from May 1.

The authority has been hearing the complaints through virtual mode under the e-courts system keeping in view the need of containment of Covid-19 pandemic.

The parties will not be permitted to change the option of physical hearing after having opted for the same.


UP RERA had completed two years in September 2020.

In two years, 28,020 complaints have been registered with RERA. Out of these, 20,740 are of NCR. 16,136 complaints have been disposed off from the NCR region and 4,893 complaints from the non-NCR region.

2874 projects have been registered in RERA, out of which 2044 projects are ongoing and 830 projects are in the new category.
