Unitech, Omaxe also in the reckoning

NEW DELHI: Two more real estate developers, Unitech and Omaxe, are set to jump into the SEZ and hospitality bandwagon, The Unitech group is planning five IT SEZs. It is also planning to set up a multi-product SEZ at Kundli, Haryana.

Delhi-based Omaxe is setting up four-five IT parks in Tier II cities. Several real estate developers such as DLF, Mahindra Gesco, Ansals, and Vipul’s, among others, have announced SEZ projects. Several real estate developers are aggressively eyeing the hospitality space.

Unitech, which has a tie-up with Carlson Hospitality, for the Radisson brand, is setting up a Country Inn & Suites at Gurgaon with 275 rooms. Also in the offing, is a tie-up with Marriot for its Courtyard brand for properties at Kolkata, Noida and Gurgaon. Unitech is now joining hands with Marriott Executive Apartments for service apartments at Gurgaon.

Omaxe plans to set up around half a dozen hotel properties all over the country in the four and five-star categories.
