Reliance Infra plant wins award for adopting new measures

NEW DELHI: Anil Ambani Group company Reliance Infrastructure on Thursday said its Dahanu Thermal Power Station near Mumbai has won the Golden Peacock Innovation Award for year 2008.

"Reliance Infrastructure Ltd's Dahanu Thermal Power Station has won the Golden Peacock Innovation Award for year 2008 for innovative measures adopted by them for power generation," a company release said.

Dahanu Thermal Power Station generates 500 MW electricity and meets nearly half of the demand in areas in the Suburban Mumbai.

The power station, is ready for expansion with an additional capacity of 1,200 MW, thus aggregating its total capacity to 1,700 MW, the release said.
