NEW DELHI: Reliance Infrastructure has bagged a Rs 2,676-crore expressway project connecting Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad and Sonepat. The company, a sole bidder for project, will recover its investment in about 20 years by collecting toll from expressway users.

The 135 km six-lane expressway will de-congest roads of Delhi as it would act as a bypass road and reduce travel time between Noida (in Uttar Pradesh) and Gurgaon (Haryana).

The project was awarded to Reliance Infrastructure after two attempts of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), the nodal agency for awarding highway projects, failed to attract any other bidder. In the past two years, Reliance
Infrastructure has become one of the major developer of highways under build-operate-transfer (BoT) mode.

The company is executing seven road projects worth Rs 3,800 crore. With the latest addition, its road portfolio has reached to 601 km, worth Rs 6,500 crore, company said in a statement.
