Newly appointed chairman of Haryana RERA Arun Kumar said the authority should create a reconciliation bench to resolve the complainants at the very initial stages that will help both the parties.

Kumar held his first meeting with the officers and staff of authority.

Kumar said that authority's core objective is to redress the grievances of allottees and its duty is to decide the complainant within the timeframe as per the mandate provisioned in the Act.


“Authority needs to reach out to the people by creating awareness campaigns and all the other means to make its functioning more efficient and transparent,” he said.

Arun Kumar, the 1989 batch senior IAS officer (Retired early this year only), joined the Authority as its second Chairman on 12 December, 2023 - for a period of five years or till he attains the age of 65 years.

October this year only, he was appointed as chief commissioner of Chandigarh Right to Service Commission by the Union Home Ministry. In his tenure he has also served as the deputy commissioner Chandigarh.

The HA-RERA Gurugram came into existence on 5 February, 2018 under Chairmanship of KK Khandelwal, retired on 4 February 2023 – after completing five years tenure.
