KMC Group, SNC-Lavalin partner for Rs 1,600 cr highway project
Construction firm KMC Group said it would invest Rs 1,600 crore in partnership with engineering and construction firm SNC-Lavalin to build and operate a national highway.
KMC Group has joined hands with engineering and construction major SNC-Lavalin to build and operate a national highway with the total project costing Rs 1,600 crore, an official statement said.
"Besides the financial investment, we will profit from SNC-Lavalin's renowned project management skills," infrastructure firm KMC Constructions Limited Managing Director Goutham Reddy said in a statement today.
The project will be executed through Rayalseema Expressway Limited (REL), a special purpose vehicle led by KMC Group to build and operate approximately 188 kms between Cuddappah and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh.
Under a 30-year concession awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), REL will build four lanes and will operate the project on a build operate and transfer toll basis.
"We at SNC Lavalin look forward to working with KMC and add value in building and operating this significant highway," SNC-Lavalin India Infrastructure Managing Director Ajay Jain said.
Hyderabad-based KMC Construction is involved in infrastructure building among others.
SNC-Lavalin is a major infrastructure player and in operations and maintenance services.
