JCB opens second plant in Talegaon

JCB India, a manufacturer of constructions equipments, opened up its second manufacturing plant in Talegaon, near Pune, with an investment of $25 million.

PUNE: JCB India, a manufacturer of constructions equipments, opened up its second manufacturing plant in Talegaon, near Pune, with an investment of $25 million, taking its total investment in Pune to $75 million. The new Pune factory will manufacture heavy-line machines for Indian and the Asian market.

JCB CEO and managing director John Patterson said the company will also expand its existing facility in Ballabgarh, Haryana. “India is now the largest market for us. Sales in India have increased than our sales in our home location in the UK. Our India sales have increased four times in the last five years.

We are investing $25 million to expand and modernise our existing facility in Ballabgarh, which will be completed in six to eight months. Our factory in Pune exports almost 65% of its products to European markets.

We will also increase the production in India to 70,000 machines in the next year.” JCB is also looking for an additional land of 100 acres in the vicinity of the Talegaon facility for another expansion next year.
