The Haryana government has launched a large-scale land procurement initiative to acquire 17,358 acres from 36 villages in Gurgaon to develop fully planned sectors with roads, utilities, public amenities, and green buffers. The Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) will manage the process digitally through the e-Bhoomi portal, potentially making it the city’s largest such effort to date.

This drive is part of a statewide target of 1.7 lakh acres to create new residential, commercial, and institutional zones. Unlike compulsory land acquisition, this procurement is voluntary, consent-based, and agreement-driven, with landowners submitting details online for verification.

Gurgaon’s notified villages include Kherki Daula, Kadipur, Sihi, Harsuru, Basai, Gadoli, Behrampur, Badshahpur, Tikli, Palra, and several others. Faridabad is another focus, with 4,500 acres proposed across 19 villages.

Landowners in notified villages have two months to submit details on e-Bhoomi, with the window open until April 30. Once verified, agreements will be finalized at mutually agreed rates, enabling HSVP to assemble contiguous parcels for sector planning.

HSVP’s previous developments include 52 sectors in Gurgaon and 49 in Faridabad. If successful, this new procurement drive will exceed its past urban expansion efforts.
