KOCHI: Feel At Home, an accommodation facility provider for students studying abroad, plans to expand footprint to more overseas locations.

Started in Dublin two years ago by a Kerala-based businessman Mohammed Rafique, the startup will offer its services at other popular student destinations such as the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. ``Rise in the number of students studying abroad has led to soaring demand for safe and cost-effective accommodation,’’ said Rafique, managing director of Feel At Home.

He said at present there is lot of uncertainty when a student goes to study at a far-off place. Since the concept of hostels is not prevalent in many foreign countries , finding an accommodation is one of the biggest challenges faced by the students. `` We have our own offices in the UK, Canada, Australia and Ireland,’’ he said.

Feel At Home, with its collaborations with landlords, manage many properties across the globe helping students to save on expenses on temporary arrangements like a hotel stay. He said for students from Asia, the primary concerns are budget, location and securing a place in a good community in the vicinity.

Rafique got the idea for the startup while pursuing higher studies in Ireland.
