Essar Projects bags $320-million order from Singapore's Jurong Aromatics Corp

MUMBAI: Essar Projects has bagged an order worth $320 million (around Rs 1,450 crore) for an engineering, procurement, and construction project from Singapore's Jurong Aromatics Corporation, the Essar Group company said in a statement.

This contract is a part of a USD 2.4-billion aromatics complex in Jurong Island in Singapore, being set up by Jurong Aromatics Corporation.

Essar Projects would construct storage tanks, jetties with loading and unloading arms, pipeline systems as well as the utilities for the entire complex. The project would be executed by the Singapore subsidiary of Essar Projects and is scheduled to be completed in 32 months.

"This order is in line with the group's philosophy to actively participate in third party projects around the globe. A third of Essar Power’s current order book of $ 6 billion comprises of third party contracts and we plan to take this to 50% going forward," Alwyn Bowden, president and chief executive officer of Essar Projects was quoted as saying in the statement.
