Era bags Rs 550 cr NHAI contract

Construction firm Era Infra Engineering Ltd (EIEL) said it has bagged a Rs 550-crore road project from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI)in Haryana.

NEW DELHI: Construction firm Era Infra Engineering Ltd (EIEL) on Monday said it has bagged a Rs 550-crore road project from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI)in Haryana.

EIEL has bagged the order in consortium with KCT from NHAI for executing the Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rothak stretch, a company statement said.

The project is scheduled to be completed in two years, it added.

Under the contract, EIEL would construct a 63.49 km stretch, including a new four-laned bypass for Bahadurgarh and Rothak and six-laned highway between Bahadurgarh and Rothak from the existing two-laned highway on Built, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis, it said.

The bypass through Bahadurgarh would be 13 km long and the Rothak bypass would be 25 km. The contract also includes construction of five grade separators, four underpasses and three railway overbridges.

"With widening of this highway, the travel time reduces drastically and traffic flow becomes smoother. This project marks the company's second important BOT project acquisition, the first being Gwalior bypass on annuity basis," Era group Chairman H S Bharana said.
