The Delhi High Court on Friday directed former Unitech director Ramesh Chandra to surrender before jail authorities on Saturday, 16th March, reported ANI.

Ramesh Chandra was on the interim bail for one and half years. The High Court took note of the report of the Medical Board of AIIMS and the fact that the ailment is not life-threatening and treatment in jail is feasible. However, the Court has directed the jail authorities that Ramesh Chandra shall be evaluated from time to time for continuity of medical treatment and at least twice a week.

He is accused in a case of money laundering related to the diversion of funds related to Home Buyers.


Last year in January, the CBI had filed a new case against Unitech Limited and its former directors in connection with an alleged fraud in the IDBI bank involving an amount of Rs 395 crore.
